Roundup, N-E-W: Blk Jks & Hypnotic Brass Ensemble and Tuamdance stuff

Ok! First proper listen to the new Dizzee Rascal tune, tis alright! I've been listening to a lot of Boney M recently as my girlfriend's gotten the greatest hits, this is very 70's disco, of course it's called Dirty Disco. Sweet.

Here it is, performed on Jonathan Ross.

Also on Ross's show, The Drums ...flamboyant upbeat Joy Division?

A song I meant to post yesterday is from South African band Blk Jks. It's brand new and is set to be on the album of the same name that's out June 8th, right before they take to the stage with the likes of Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas, John Legend, Shakira, Tinariwen, Vieux Farka Touré, and Vusi Mahlasela on June 10th for the launch of the World Cup in South Africa. They're last album, After Robots, last year, was cracking, so is this tune, big hopes for them!

Blk Jks - Zol! Alt

Choice Cuts, Dublin party people have added a track for free from Heritage, the new Hypnotic Brass Ensemble E.P that was recorded in Dublin last time they were about, it's an awesome take on Outkast's Spottieottiedopaliscious. Here are the details on Choice Cut's page

HBE are playing Sea Sessions in Bundoran, Co. Donegal June 25-27th, along with David Holmes, Paul Weller and loads more.

Hypnotic Brass Ensemble - Spottie Alt

In other mini festival news we're only two weeks away from the second ever Tuamdance! Simple as this, if you haven't heard, 6 bands, beer and a shed ...in Tuam. Yup.

€8

So Cow
The Cast Of Cheers
The Ambience Affair
Go Panda Go

The place is tiny so if you're planning to travel on down to Tuam for it you can reserve up to 2 tickets by mailing tuamdance@gmail.com. They'll be held until 7p.m that evening, but if they're not picked up will be sold on the door. A few surprises in the works too, and sure all in all it'll be the best barn dance Tuam will ever have seen! Also, if you reserve tickets by e-mail you'll be treated to an aural gift, an mp3 from each band on the lineup!

So Cow - Ain't No Fun Alt

It's gonna be fucking silly.
